Your Copper Tongue Scraper Guide

Complete Care, Benefits & Ayurvedic Usage Guide

Natruveda Copper Tongue Scraper Benefits

The Ayurvedic Power of Copper

In Ayurveda, copper is considered a sacred healing metal (Tamra). Scraping the tongue with copper is an ancient wellness practice designed to remove toxins (Ama) from the mouth, stimulate digestion, and refresh oral hygiene naturally.

  • Naturally Anti-Microbial: Pure copper surfaces eliminate bacteria within minutes of contact, preventing them from surviving on your scraper.
  • Digestive Stimulation: Gentle scraping activates key taste receptors on the tongue, signaling the stomach to produce digestive enzymes.
  • Banishes Halitosis: Unlike plastic, copper doesn't harbor odor-causing bacteria, giving you cleaner breath that lasts all day.
  • Eco-Friendly & Lifetime Use: A single copper scraper will last a lifetime, replacing hundreds of plastic scrapers.

Step-by-Step Daily Ritual

For the best results, use your tongue scraper first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. This prevents you from re-swallowing the bacterial buildup that occurred overnight.

1

Relax Your Tongue

Stick your tongue out, keeping it relaxed and soft. Avoid tensing or contracting the tongue muscle.

2

Position the Scraper

Hold the loop of the scraper comfortably with both hands. Place the curved edge at the very back of your tongue.

3

Gently Scrape Forward

Firmly but gently, drag the scraper forward to the tip of your tongue. Never push back towards the throat.

4

Rinse and Repeat

Rinse the scraper under running water after each pass. Repeat this scraping stroke 5 to 10 times until clean.

How to Maintain Your Scraper

Because your scraper is made from 100% pure copper, it will naturally oxidize (patina) over time when exposed to oxygen and water. This is normal and is a scientific proof of the copper's purity. It does not affect its anti-microbial properties.

  • Daily Rinse: Wash thoroughly with warm water after use, and dry it with a towel. Storing it dry prevents immediate tarnishing.
  • Lemon & Salt Shine: Cut a lemon in half, sprinkle a pinch of salt on it, and rub the scraper. Rinse with warm water and dry. It will look brand new in 10 seconds!
  • Vinegar Solution: Alternatively, mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar with 1 teaspoon of salt and warm water. Soak the scraper for a few minutes, rinse, and dry.
⚠️ The Copper Patina Notice

Please do not use chemical soaps, detergents, or steel wool to clean your copper scraper. Natural organic acids (like lemon juice or vinegar) are completely safe, highly effective, and preserve the healing metal.
